Amid his split from Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has reached out and reportedly reconnected with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. The pair have been divorced for over a decade but it looks like the split is a thing of the past.
According to Us Weekly, Pitt, 53, was able to track down Anniston’s number to wish her a happy 48th birthday.
The texting exes:
The magazine was told by a source that the ex-couple has been texting since Pitt was able to track down the actress’ phone number to wish her happy birthday on February 11. The source also claims that the actor confided in her.
The pair got divorced in 2005 and have not been in each other’s lives since Pitt fell in love with Angelina Jolie during filming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2004.
The source added that Pitt is having trouble with his split from Jolie and the texts with Jen were mostly reminiscing about the past.
Another source has confirmed the reports but has claimed that they have been doing so for some time. The source added that Pitt hasn’t sought Jen’s number as they have a relationship and are in touch.
The source has added that the friendliness between the exes is not worrying Jen’s current husband, Justin Theroux, 45, as he’s fine with them having a relationship. “He knows Jen just wanted to be nice,” the sourced continued.
Brad is trying to have a similarly good relationship with his soon to be second ex-wife, Jolie. Angelina and those around her had initially taken aim at Brad, however, her tone has changed as she spoke about how he is a wonderful father to their six children
Jolie, 41, filed for divorce in September citing the health of her family after Brad and Maddox, their oldest son, were allegedly involved in some sort of scuffle on the family’s private plane.
The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services investigated the incident and determined not to press any charges nor keep Brad from seeing his children.
Earlier this month on Good Morning America, Angelina said that the family is doing alright in the wake of the split. “We are … we are focusing on the health of our family. And so we will be [healthier]. We will be stronger when we come out of this, because that’s what we’re determined to do,” she said.
