First President Bush is sent to intensive care


On Wednesday, former president George H.W. Bush was transported to ICU at Houston Methodist Hospital in the wake of being admitted on Saturday. Barbara Bush was admitted on Wednesday morning for safety purposes, following fatigue and coughing, authorities said in an announcement. The 41st president already sent a letter to Donald Trump communicating regrets that he couldn’t go to the presidential inauguration on Friday. He said that he and his wife “will be with you and the country in spirit.”

In a letter that Bush composed on January 10th, preceding he was hospitalized on Saturday for breathing issues. He even joked, “My doctor says if I sit outside in January, it likely will put me six feet under. So I guess we’re stuck in Texas. I want you to know that I wish you the very best as you begin this incredible journey of leading our great country. If I can ever be of help, please let me know.”

George H.W. Bush is the father of former President George W. Bush and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who ran in an aggressive, and, now and again, antagonistic, challenge against Trump in the 2016 Republican presidential primaries. Jeb Bush won’t go to the introduction, yet George W. and his wife Laura Bush will be in participation, as will Bill and Hillary Clinton.
