Nick Gordon, the ex-partner of Whitney Houston’s late daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, was charged on Saturday with beating up his new girlfriend after a heated argument between the two.
A Sanford Police report says a heated quarrel took place early Saturday between Gordon and his girlfriend, Laura Leal, which later “became physical and lasted through the night.” with Gordon “hitting and punching her in the face and the back of the head with a closed fist.”
Gordon told officers that he never beat her, “that he is the one that was abused and punished.” that she constantly abused and punched him, and that he is looking into filing charges against her, the report says.
After checking the girl’s wounds, the officers urged her to undergo hospital treatment, and then jailed Gordon without bond on charges of domestic battery and false imprisonment.
The bitter quarrel broke out when the pair watched the NBA playoff game at a sports bar, Leal recalled.
“Gordon was upset because he thought she was trying to hook up with one of his friends.” the report says. “Leal stated her feelings for Gordon are real but added that the relationship was toxic.”
According to the reports, Leal said that as the quarrel took a more bitter path, Gordon knocked her laptop over, smashed her cell phone, and hid his so she cannot ask anyone for help.
At some point after daylight, she said she managed to escape after she referred to Gordon’s mother, Michelle Gordon, who took her to her sister, who called the police, the report said.
A Judge in Atlanta last November ruled that Gordon had to pay $36 million to the estate of Bobbi Kristina Brown for her tragic death as he was accused of giving the late Bobby Kristina Brown a toxic cocktail and putting her face down in water which caused her death.
