Turkish economic confidence improves in July


More positive outlook from June apart from construction sector

ANKARA – The economic outlook for Turkish consumers and manufacturers improved sharply in July, the Turkish Statistical Institute said Thursday.

The economic confidence index increased by 4.8 percent on the previous month with a reading of 83.56, up from 79.75 in June, according to the report.

The real sector confidence index increased by 1.4 percent in July compared to the previous month and the services confidence index was up by 1.4 percent. The retail trade sector confidence index also rose by 0.7 percent in July.

However, the construction confidence index fell by 2.8 percent on June.
