England and Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney’s ex-England striker partner, Peter Crouch, has expressed his feeling towards Rooney who he feels is underappreciated in spite of his lofty achievements for both club and country.
Wayne Rooney made his Premier League debut when he turned 16 and had gone on to win five Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League title, FA Cup, Europa League and four EFL title.
England and Manchester United highest Goalscorer
Rooney has also become the all-time top scorer at Manchester United after finding the back of the night with a 90th-minute free kick in the game against Stoke City last season and is currently the English Premier League second highest goal scorer behind Newcastle United Legend, Alan Shearer.
He is also the leading England all-time goal scorer after outscoring Sir Bobby Charlton In 2015. This shows that Rooney has also been impressive for England.
Peter Crouch and Wayne Rooney have both featured a couple of times for England and the former believes that Wayne Rooney is not getting the credit and respect that he deserves.
“When you take a look at Rooney’s career. You will see that he has really been under appreciated” Crouch revealed during the Costa Smeralda Invitational tournament.
“Rooney is the highest goal scorer for Manchester United, which is a massive club to achieve this feat with and he is also highest goal scorer for England.”
“It not just his goal scoring ability but he is a natural born footballer who burst onto the scene when he was just 16.”
“He has had a great career and is without a doubt one of the best players that England has produced. I think a time will come when we all look back at his career and see his amazing contribution to football.”
